FAQS

• What is NFC, and how does it work?

Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short-range wireless communication technology that enables data exchange between two NFC-enabled devices or between an NFC device and an NFC tag when they are in close proximity (typically within a few centimeters). An NFC tag is passive device that stores data, which can be accessed by an NFC- enabled smartphone or device through a simple tap, without requiring an app in most cases.

• What are The Reunite NFC products, and how do they work?

The Reunite NFC products contain an embedded NFC tag that can be tapped by an NFC enabled smartphone to access the information the guardian chooses to provide. This may include emergency contact details, allergy elerts, or medical conditions. When tapped, the sorted information is instantly available, making it easier for caregivers, first responders, or good samaritans to reconnect individuals, children, or pets with their guardians when needed.

• What is The Reunite Registry, and how does it work?

The Reunite Registry is our online platform that links emergency contact information to The Reunite NFC products. Users can register and update their details, which can be accessed by scanning the NFC tag with a compatible smartphone. While this helps provide quick access to contact details, it does not provide GPS tracking or emergency response services.

• Is my personal information secure when using The Reunite NFC products?

We take privacy seriously. The Reunite Registry only displays the details you choose to share. Since NFC data can be accessed by anyone who scans the product, we recommend entering only essential, non-sensitive emergency contact information. Users control their own data, and The Reunite is not responsible for unauthorized access or third-party actions related to scanned information.

• Can The Reunite NFC products help locate a lost child or pet?

The Reunite NFC products do not provide GPS tracking or real-time location monitoring. They are designed to store emergency contact details that can be accessed when scanned. While this can assist in reuniting lost individuals or pets, it does not guarantee recovery, safety, or emergency response. We always recommend additional safety measures alongside our products.
